Giovanni Landoni, M.D.

Dr Giovanni Landoni, MD (born 1971), is originally from Milan, Italy. He earned his degrees in Milan University and is currently Assistant Professor at Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele, Milan, where he is Head of research of the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive care.
Dr Landoni is member of the Editorial Board of five journals (the Journal of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesia and PLOS One among others) and serves as reviewer for other 30 journals (Annals of Internal Medicine, Circulation, British Journal of Anesthesia, European Journal of Anaesthesiology, and Critical Care Medicine among others) and 2 foreign grant agencies. He also is E.A.C.T.A. member (European Association of CardioThoracic Anesthesiologists) since 2003 and S.I.A.A.R.T.I. member (Società Italiana di Anestesia, Analgesia, Rianimazione e Terapia Intensiva) since 1996.
Dr Landoni is member of the AIFA (the Italian Food and Drug Administration) "Commissione Consultiva Tecnico Scientifica per la valutazione dei farmaci (C.T.S.).

His strong clinical and research interests in cardiac anesthesia, combined with a passion in mathematics, have resulted in numerous publications and invitations to national and international congresses. Dr. Landoni has also strong a interest in Emergency Medicine. In addition, he has spent three years abroad attending stages in US, Spain, the Netherlands, India (where he married), Uganda (where he played football in the Premiere League 2001-2002). Dr Landoni spends his non working hours with his kids (Giulia 7y and Mattia 4y) and working non-for-profit organizations such as Project for People - ONLUS since 1992, Unicef - Italia and IFMSA. Dr. Landoni filed applications for 5 patents in the field.
